Compost-A-Mat is the new alternative to the rubber mats currently being used in swine facilities. Disease organisms can remain in the fabric of a traditional rubber mat even after washing, sanitizing and drying. This creates a problem thereby causing disease to linger from one litter to the next, never going away.
Compost-A-Mat products are designed to break the disease cycle by starting new pigs with a fresh, clean mat that hasn't been exposed to another litter's diseases. Produced from 100% organic materials (cornstalks and wood mulch), Compost-a-mat can be composted or broken into pieces and fed to gestating sows as feedback material to further protect the upcoming litters.
